What are you COMMITTED to in 2021?
Welcome to 2021! We made it!! At the start of the year we often set goals and make resolutions. This year, let’s make some COMMITMENTS!
I am sure you have heard the story about the egg and the bacon. Without going into all the details, just know that the chicken was involved in the process while the pig was COMMITTED to the process.
What process will you COMMIT to this year to improve your wellness? We are almost a week into the new year. Are you still as enthusiastic about your goals as when you set them last week?
As for me, I have COMMITTED Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to strength training. Did I WANT to go lift today? NOPE!! However, my COMMITMENTS determine my actions, not my feelings.
I am very conscious to keep the appointments that I make with others. THIS YEAR, I AM COMMITTED to keeping my appointment with me and these weights!
Yep, we are going on 157 dates. 2021 is so good to me that it gave me an extra Friday to hang out with these weights! My oh my!
Whatever your COMMITMENT is, schedule it like you do any other appointment. If you have to, literally, put it on your calendar. It is time to honor our word to ourselves, so we are not making the same goals year after year.
Every appointment has a location, so where will you be when you are working on your commitment? I will be in the lab for my appointments. Throughout school, I had my fair share of time in the science lab where we created and dissected all sorts of things. Done with that phase, and the gym is now my "lab." This speech language pathologist is going back to “school,” and will be in the lab learning how to dissect bad habits in order to create a new and improved temple.
What will your COMMITMENT be to your wellness this year? There are eight areas to choose from: spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, social, financial, environmental, and vocational. You may be COMMITTING to more than one area. Share with us your COMMITMENT(s), and don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help in reaching your goal.
Here’s to a great year of honoring our COMMITMENTS and achieving our goals!
